Reform NEET —
India's Pre-Medical Gateway Needs an Overhaul
NEET is India's single national pre-medical entrance examination for MBBS, BDS and AYUSH admissions. Over 20 lakh students appear every year. We urge Hon'ble Union Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan ji to initiate a comprehensive multi-stakeholder review.
What is NEET & What We're Asking For
NEET — National Eligibility cum Entrance Test — is India's single national pre-medical entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Over 20 lakh students appear every year, making it one of the most competitive exams in the world.
Align NEET syllabus strictly with NCERT Class 11 & 12 — Physics, Chemistry, and Biology questions must be based only on the standard school board curriculum. No out-of-syllabus or coaching-dependent questions.
Reduce dependency on private coaching institutes — NEET must be crackable through sincere school study alone. Launch free NEET preparation programmes in every district through government colleges and online platforms.
Learn from international pre-medical entry models — Study how countries like the UK (UCAT/BMAT), Germany (TMS), and Australia (UMAT) conduct fair, aptitude-based pre-medical selection.
Zero Tolerance for NEET Paper Leakage — Enact a strict central law making NEET paper leakage a non-bailable criminal offence. Establish an independent, tamper-proof digital question paper delivery system.
Address student mental health and exam pressure — Introduce mandatory counselling support, limit NEET attempts with clear policy, and create a student grievance redressal system.
Ensure equal opportunity for rural, SC/ST, OBC & EWS students — Provide free study material, free mock tests, and dedicated NEET preparation centres in every taluk and mandal.
